EA Sports College Football

I think we can all collectively agree that we’ve felt like this iconic Titanic meme as we patiently awaited the return of college football to our gaming consoles.

Titanic, 1997

3968 days since NCAA Football 14 rolled out to the masses.

1203 days since EA announced, “College Football is coming back.

And we’re only 60 days away from experiencing pure jubilation once again.

On Friday, May 17, EA dropped the much-anticipated reveal trailer for College Football 25. In what was more of a hype video than a gameplay showcase, the folks at EA put our minds at ease. The minute and fifty-seven-second mashup perfectly captured what makes this great sport so addicting and entertaining: new and old traditions, glitz and glam, chaotic play.

Rest assured, this game was developed with the mindset of “Every school is somebody’s favorite school.” The dev team collected unique digital assets, audio, and traditions for all 134 FBS universities (a level of detail typically reserved for coaching staffs preparing for week 1 opponents).

Every person I’ve spoken to since Friday, whether family, friends, or former teammates/colleagues, has expressed immense anticipation for this year-to-year title’s return. Most intriguingly, their eagerness is spread across various confirmed features and game modes of CFB 25 (e.g., Dynasty, Road to Glory, Team Builder). Personally, I cannot wait to turn my high school into a university through Team Builder and elevate its status as a program in Dynasty mode. In that same breath, I’m looking forward to starting a Road to Glory career at a small school before transferring to a national power.

Regardless of individual preferences, I have it on good authority that passionate college football fans will be glued to their couches upon this game’s release.

Make whatever necessary arrangements: PTO requests, sending the kids off to stay with family, stocking up on your favorite junk food.

July 19 is fast approaching.

Our favorite game is coming back.

The best CFB podcasts, in my opinion, belong to Joel Klatt & Josh Pate

Mo Bamba + College Football = A Match Made In Heaven (Honestly, I watch this clip once a week during the offseason.)
